Hydrojet Drain Cleaning is a method that uses high-pressure water to remove blockages and clear drains as much as possible and can be used in residential or commercial applications. The jet uses high-pressure water (up to 4,000 psi) to break up and remove grease, dirt and even tree roots from sewer drain pipes. Unlike a plumbing snake, where a tool is used to force a hole through a buildup, a water jet allows you to clean the pipes thoroughly. This process clears the inside of the pipe from accumulated debris that has caused the blockage or slow flow.
If you pressurize enough water and then release it from the spout, the power of the water can erase even the most stubborn deposits and clogs in the plumbing system. A powerful jet of pressurized water from a HydroJet engine can break the most stubborn blockages if done right. So the HydroJet is a great solution for difficult clogs that a snake cannot remove. If used incorrectly a HydroJet can easily damage plumbing.
In cases where tree roots have grown into pipes, the HydroJet has been shown to break the root and clear the pipe. A jet can break up stubborn blockages and remove materials from the inner walls of pipes. On the other hand, a HydroJet not only clears blockages but also cleans your water pipes of materials that build upon the pipe walls, such as minerals and grease.
Instead of clearing a hole large enough to get started, the jet clears the entire plumbing line and keeps plumbing unobstructed for longer. While traditional sewer cleaning should be done at least twice a year, water jetting is so detailed that it keeps pipes free of clogs for years, saving you money in the long run. HydroJets are indispensable when problems arise, but you can also schedule routine jobs to keep your drainage system running smoothly all year round. This is often the most effective option in the hands of an experienced plumber and can keep lines clear for up to four times longer than traditional methods.
How does HydroJet Work?
Water is directed through a long tube inserted into the drain or cleanout access. The hose is connected to a machine that pumps pressurized water through nozzles on the nozzle head to thoroughly clean and release debris.
The force of the water jet and the action of the nozzle end connection cause hair, mineral deposits, grease, oil and other debris clogging the drain to be broken up and pushed through. The cleaning action of pressurized hot water in a hydro-jet system cleans the inside of the pipe, removing solid material and dissolving the sticky sludge and foam that is the starting point for most blockages. With this treatment, water flows rapidly through pipes via a high-pressure hose.
Sewer Cleaning with HydroJet
Sewer cleaning with this method can also be cheaper and more environmentally friendly than other commercial cleaning options. Your responsibility is to maintain the sewer pipes in your property, and HydroJet cleaning is an extremely effective way to clear the most severe blockages. A water jet is only needed to remove the most severe sewer blockages in residential buildings. The jet provides a thorough preventive cleaning of water pipes to prevent clogging and more expensive sewer repairs in the future.
A jet of water can open the most difficult obstacles. Pressure washing the “walls” of the sewer line and at the same time covers the entire diameter of the pipe, unloading debris and leaving the lines free without damaging the pipes. The power of this jet of water is enough to remove any debris stuck inside the exhaust pipes: grease and oil, hair, soap suds, minerals and more.
Before water jetting, most sewer cleaning services relied on a rod, which involved using a tool such as an auger to puncture debris in an attempt to open up a stream of water.
An experienced water jetting contractor knows the exact water pressure required to break and clear obstructions without damaging the plumbing. Cleaning a single pipe with a water jet system can delay the need for another service to remove blockages or tree roots up to four times longer than a conventional mechanical snake procedure. Commercial establishments that cannot afford downtime due to clogged drains can schedule yearly or semi-annual waterjet maintenance to keep drain lines clean and stop the sludge buildup cycle that inevitably leads to clogged drains. In addition, trained and qualified inkjet technology can ensure no risk of clogging in the near future.
If you’re facing clogged drains and slow sewer lines that are blocking sewer blocks and contaminating your home’s water source, you should use the Hydrojet Plumbing solution.
